In mid-December 2023, the southern regions of Tamil Nadu, specifically Tenkasi, Tirunelveli, and Thoothukudi districts, experienced relentless rainfall. The release of water from the dam areas into the foothills of the Western Ghats compounded the situation, resulting in significant flooding and extensive damage across these districts.

Responding to the plight of those affected along the Tamiraparani River, the “Sathya Unar Charitable Trust” took action on December 24th. We provided flood relief assistance to approximately 250 families in the Poonthurai area of Tirunelveli along the banks of the Tamiraparani.
Aiming to ease the hardships faced by the affected families, the aid package included essential items:

. groceries
. lungis
. nightwear
. towels
. vests and
. sanitary napkins
